Prologue

Prologue

Nobody told me, that I was the Chosen One. Nobody said that my parents were Gods. Nobody didn't even think to give me a name, so I name myself. I'm Kolina Stevenson, but my Goddess name is Anastasia. But I didn't find out until later much later. Time is running out, my mother is about to be executed, my father is missing, my half-siblings are turning against me, and my husband has been taking hostage until I agree to join the dark side. Romans and Greek demigods will collide, Gaia-the earth goddess- and Cronos are raising . Darker monsters will be created, and I, Anastasia the Goddess of Drama, will have to face my evil twin sister, Evangelina, the Goddess of Chaos. I wish somebody would have told me that saving the world was hard.

Chapter One: The Recurring Dream

The dream starts the same way it always does: a woman with long black hair is running down the street, and she glances over her shoulder. She is holding two babies, the one with the green eyes is crying.

"Shh, Evangelina," She whispered, then her red rose necklace starts to glow.

Evangelina's green eyes widen and reaches the necklace in awe. The woman softly smiles at Evangelina, before shifting her attention to the blue-eyed baby.

"Anastasia," she coos.

Anastasia looks at the woman and gurgles happily in responds.

The woman smiles at her, "you sweet child."

"Hera?" Says a voice.

The woman identified as Hera looks up, "Hades?"

The man, Hades, steps out of the shadows; he has blackish brownish hair that stops at his shoulders with green eyes like Evangelina.

"What's going on?" Hades asks.

"We have to hide the twins, before Zeus finds out about them." Answers Hera.

"Where would they go?" Hades asks, "they are too powerful to hide. Wherever they go, Zeus'll go after them."

"That's why-Hades-that's why I thought we should take away their powers."

Hades looks shock. "No, we can't-Hera, what if-"

Hera stops him in mid-sentence, "we'll leave enough power in them, for them to pass off as demigods. Just like you said Hades, they're too powerful, it'll be dangerous if we let them keep their powers. Zeus and monsters will be after them, and I can't allow that."

Hades looks into her eyes and sigh, "fine."

"Here, take Evangelina." Says Hera, giving Hades, Evangelina. "I'll give them, their necklace that will make them demigods."

Hades took Evangelina and Hera touched her necklace with her free hand. The necklace glows and two necklaces appears into her hand. One was green, the other was blue. Hera hands Hades the green necklace, to put around Evangelina's neck; and she put the blue necklace around Anastasia's neck. The two necklaces started to glow as they drain the twin's powers, until they were left with demigod powers. Just as the necklaces finishes, a sound of thunder rumbles through the air. Hera and Hades glanced at each other.

"He knows," whispers Hera. "We have to leave, now."

"They can't be together," says Hades. "We have to separate them."

Hera starts to rock Anastasia, and looks between the two girls, "Hades, we can't. It's bad enough that we have to take away their powers-"

"Hera, even without their divine powers, they are still very powerful together." Says Hades. "It's best if we separate them."

Hera sighs and looks at the two, making a decision, "Fine, Anastasia goes to the Greek side, and Evangelina goes to the Roman side."

Hades softly kissed Hera's lips and says, "They'll be safe."

"I hope so," she mutters.

Hera caressed Evangelina's face and kisses her on the cheek, a single tear slips down her face. She fears this will be the last time, she'll see them; that they would hate her for separating them and abandoning them, but she had to they had to understand this. Hera starts to take away her hand, but Evangelina grabs one of her fingers. Hera wrestle her finger out of Evangelina's grasped before turning away.

"You take, Evangelina; I take, Anastasia." Says Hera, fighting back tears.

"Are you ok?" Hades asks.

Hera nods and takes a shaky breath, "Let's just get this over with."

Rushing down the street, Hera is rocking Anastasia to sleep. She glances behind her back two times, before settling Anastasia down. She kisses the top of Anastasia's head and whispers, "Good luck, Anastasia."

Hera looks up at the door, before knocking on the door. And she quickly runs off, and a dark figure takes her place.

"Good luck?" Says a raspy female voice.

There's a pause, before she gives a crackle of laughter. "Your dear mother, thinks good luck will save you. Oh dear little one, you are in trouble."

The dark figure reached to touch Anastasia, but then a blast of light, forced the woman to draw back her hand.

"Ah," the woman hissed. "No worries, be prepared little one: for when I raise, Olympus will fall, Chaos will rule again. Anastasia, the daughter of Hera and Hades, beware."

The dark figure disappears and the dream ends with a stream of light. That's when I'm woken up: "Girl! Wake up..."

Chapter Two: Normal Route

"Girl! Wake up, Breakfast!" Called Chelsea Malloy, the Orphanage Owner.

I groan and pulled a pillow over my head, "I have a name!"

"Not from the papers I got." Answered Chelsea.

I sit straight up from my bed, and glared at the door. That her excuse, everyday, not to give me a name. When I came up with one, she laughed in my face, it took all my might not to punch her in the face. As I got up, I mumbled curses and started to get dress. I pulled my long brown hair into a ponytail before walking down the stairs. As I walk down the stairs, I noticed that Taylor's, Lily's, and Justine's doors was close.

"Did you wake up, Justine, Lily, and Taylor?" I asked.

"No, they don't have morning chores; you do." Answered Chelsea.

I gritted my teeth, another reason why I hated Chelsea Malloy. She is totally unfair! She adores Justine, Lily, and Taylor, she goes out of her way to make them happy, and me miserable. They, in fact, did have morning chores, but they complained to Chelsea that they needed their beauty sleep: so I was given their morning chores. Anyways, I was about to enter the kitchen, when Taylor pushed me out the way.

"Your voice woke me up, dumb mutt." She sneered.

I glared at her, as I got up.

"You know, Taylor, have you try not being a jerk?" I said.

She narrowed her eyes at me, "excuse me?"

"You heard me," I calmly responded. "Stop being a jerk, it doesn't work for you."

Taylor started to open her mouth, but, there was a thump and an argument between the new girl and Lily. Why did I have to deal with the Three Scrooges, this earlier in the morning?

"Hold that thought." I said, before heading back up the stairs.

When I made it up the stairs, Lily was standing over Sally.

"Leave her alone," I said.

Lily turned to me and sneer, "Stay out of it, stupid."

I sighed, "I do have a name."

"That you given yourself." Lily counter.

I swear if one more person says that...

"Leave the girl alone, we both who would win the fight." I threaten.

Lily looked between me and Sally before saying, "Wait till, I tell Justine that you're intervening, again."

Then she took off, rolled my eyes and called after her, "I'm not scare of Justine!"

Sally got up and said softly, "you didn't have to help me."

I heard all before, the new girls didn't want me to help them, they didn't want to appear weak. But Sally's explanation was different.

"I don't want to get you into trouble." Sally said.

I laughed bitterly, "I get into trouble regardless. I hope that you adopted immediately, I don't want you to be here for the rest of your life, like me."

"What do you mean?" Sally asked.

"I been here since I was a baby." I elaborated.

"Oh-" Sally didn't get to finish, because Chelsea called out: "Kolina!"

I swallowed hard, that can't be good. They never called me by the name I chose for myself. Before leaving, I bide good-bye to Sally, and head downstairs. I was greeted with a slap across the face and I crumbled to the ground. The last time Chelsea hit me was when Justine broke her ugly vase, but Justine blamed me, and Chelsea believed her.

"So this is where you been going these passed seven years." Chelsea said, before shoving a piece of paper in my face.

My heart dropped, I was close, so close. This piece of paper was my report card from Michaels' High School. You wonder why it is so bad for me to going to school, well. Chelsea had told the authories that she would homeschool us instead of us to go to real school, because 'she wanted to have the joy of teaching us.' But in the reality was that she didn't to school, then we don't go to school. You also wondering how I managed to school without them knowing, well that was quite easy. I would lie and say that I was working, and they believed it, for awhile. Then Justine started to ask, if I was working, then shouldn't I be getting money? So then I went to get a job, and every since then, I've been going to school and working just to give them gifts.

"Go on, and tell a lie. I have proof right here that you've been going to school."

"I have," I said. "But how else was I suppose to work and give you guys gifts? You lucky Chelsea, you didn't have to go to school to have a job. But me? I did, they said that homeschooling wasn't enough, so I went to school."

Any genius would have seen through that lie. But Chelsea believed it.

"You're still in trouble." Chelsea conclude. "Start scrubbing the floors."

I groaned

"Kolina. Kolina." Said Justine smacking her teeth.

Why did they want to say the name I given myself, now?

I flipped back my bang and looked at Justine, "what do you want?"

"Oh, nothing just that I heard that you interfered." Said Justine, "again."

I rolled my eyes, and went back scrubbing the floor.

"Why do you think you better than us, huh?" Justine asked, when she saw I wasn't going to answer. "Because you went to school?"

"Get lost Justine." I said, then mutter. "Can't wait to leave this place."

Justine heard what I said, "oh, that's right! Next year, you'll be twenty, and then you be able to leave."

I continue to ignore her, "What you're going to do out there? Go find your mother? You know that's a waste of time, why would she want you? She did just leave you here."

"Shut up, Justine." I growled.

"I mean let's think about it." Said Justine, "You were left on the doorstep, no letter of why, just a necklace. You been here for nineteen years, and your mother had tons of times to take you back but doesn't. Face it Kolina, she doesn't want you."

Ouch. Low blow. I kept my eyes on the floor and kept scrubbing the floors. I felt the tears threating to fall, but I wouldn't. not in front of her.

She touch my necklace and said, "why keep this? It's just another reminder that she didn't want you."

I slapped her hand always from my necklace, and gritted my teeth, "Leave me alone."

Justine step backs and I can see that stupid smug look on her face, "Did I strike a nerve?"

I balled my hands into fists, "Justine, if you don't leave me alone. I swear, you'll wish you didn't mess with me."

I felt my anger rising, and Justine for a split second looked scare. But I wasn't sure because, Justine left in a hurry. The anger that I felt just a minute ago, was gone and sadness hit me. I fell on my knees and went back to scrubbing the floors, a few tears slip before I start sobbing. But I made sure it was quiet, I couldn't let her get the satisfaction that she got to me.

A few later the was a knock on the door.

"Kolina!" Chelsea yelled, "get the door!"

"Alright!" I shout back.

I threw the sponge into the bucket, wipe my hands on my jeans, and head towards the door. Before opening the door, I wiped away my tears. Taking a deep breath, I open the door that would change my life...

Chapter Three: Worst Welcome Home Party

Chapter three: Worst Welcome Home Party Ever

When I open the door, and well...the most handsome boy was at the door. He was tall, with blond hair and golden eyes, and he was smiling at me charmingly.
"How can I help you?" I asked.
"Are you Kolina Stevenson?" he asked.
"Yes." I replied, and then lean against the doorway. "And You?"
"Great!" He beamed, "and Hermes."
I raised a eyebrow, "name after the God of Messengers?"
His eyes lit with something, I couldn't place. "You can say that."
"So what do you want?" I asked again.
He glanced at my necklace, then at me, "I'm here to take your home."
He had to be joking. Justine, must have put him up to this. But, she couldn't because she wasn't that smart to even think of it.
"Take me home?" I said slowly.
He nod eagerly, "your mother and father are awaiting for your arrival."
I couldn't exactly just give in like that, "Why now? After all those years?"
Hermes looked down at his hands, "to be honest , we were going to get you once you hit adulthood, but then your sister got corrupted."
I held my hand, trying to process everything, "wait. I have a twin sister? And what do you mean, she got corrupted?"
"Long story." Hermes admit, "and we got to get you out of here fast."
"Kolina! Who's at the-" Chelsea called as she walked downstairs, but stop at the sight of Hermes.
"Who-" She started.
What happened next, was...peculiar, Hermes looked into Chelsea's eyes and said calmly, "I was never here. A girl with a blue rose necklace was never here, and you will erase any evidence that she ever exist."
I thought for sure that Chelsea was going to yell at him, but she nod dreamily and went upstairs.
He grabbed my hand and lend me outside, "we have to leave, now."
"What just happen back there?" I demanded.
"I explain later but, right now we got to go."
A block away from the Orphanage, we encounter a hideous giant with horns and claws with glowing red eyes.
"An oni." Hermes whisper, "I haven't seen one for a thousand of years."
"What?" I managed, before the Oni charged.
Automatically, I step a side and the Oni went passed me. Hermes, pulled out a staff with two snake wrapped around and hit the Oni with it. It was the caduceus. And that's when it hit me, Hermes was a God. I didn't have time to think about it, because the Oni roared and charged at me. Suddenly, I felt angry and I glared at the monster and thrust my hand at it.
It shock me, when I caught sight of my hands. They were blue; no they weren't blue, they were on fire. The oni cried out, and started to hit wildly and Hermes pushed me behind him. Hermes, once again, swung his caduceus and solemnly hit the oni in the throat. I quickly back away from the fight.
The Oni roared again and swung his arm at Hermes, but he stop it with his caduceus. The Oni swung his other arm at Hermes, but Hermes did a back flip and mid-air wings spout out the side of his shoes.
He turned to me, "I'll look away if I was you."
I turned my head and saw the bright light, as Hermes showed his true immortal form. the oni screamed in agony. I guess I was too close to the fight because something hard as rock, hit me. When I looked down, I saw that left leg had a deep cut.
Hermes rushed to my side and muttered, "Hera's going to kill me."
Hermes helped me up, and put my arm around his neck , taking some of my weight.
"We have to leave before more come." Said Hermes.
When we reached the corner, a human like dog blocked us. It had six fingers, and its eyes was black like demons.
"Thanks for jinxing us." I commented, "what is that thing?"
"An adlet." Hermes answered, ignoring what I said earlier.
The adlet walked slowly towards us, and the thing started to growling. It stop and watch us, unsure I took a step back. Then, the adlet lunged at me. Not me or Hermes had time to stop it, and the thing was on top of me. We struggled, while Hermes tried to hit the adlet without hitting me.
The adlet dung its nails into my cheek, and I screamed. With one good kick in the stomach, the adlet flew through the air. I got up and straggled back, holding my cheek. Hermes killed it easily once it was off me. I collapsed to the ground, and my vision began to darken.
Hermes raced towards me and murmured, "we got to get you to Apollo."
Then I fainted.

I woke up to argument. I sat up, and open my eyes. This couldn't be good; the were twelve people in the room with me and they were all yelling and shouting at each other. A beautiful woman with long black hair and blue eyes turned to Hermes.
"I told you to bring her unharmed!" She snapped.
The other arguments died down and the other ten people watched Hermes and the woman.
"I was taken by surprise, My Queen." Stuttered Hermes, "an Oni and adlet."
"A oni?! And an adlet?" Said one of the ten people. "They really wanted to kill her before she got here. How powerful is she, Hera?"
"Shut it, Artemis." Hera growled.
The arguments started up again, but this time they were direct at Hera. She looked over and saw that I was up.
"Silence!" Hera commanded, "she's awake."
Suddenly, I was the center of attention. I was taken back, as questions was throw at me.
"Out!" Shout Hera.
A man with long blond hair with electric blue eyes turned to Hera, "why, Hera? What is going on here?"
Hera glared at him, "Zeus, I said out! Everybody!"
"I am King and I say-" Zeus started.
"Do you really want to start with me." Hera said in a deadly voice, "I'm not in the mood. My daughter have been hurt, because your son can't do is job. Now I said get OUT!"
Zeus closed his mouth and glared at Hera. She just glared right back.
"Come on." Said Zeus after, what seem like a hour.
The group left, but before Hermes left, Hera grabbed his arm.
"I get you later." Hera hissed.
Hermes nod, and went pale. She let him go, and turned to me, forcing a smile.
"Anastasia, welcome home."
