Anya Zardonov is a princess in line for the throne of Daighte, a crown which is currently under the rule of the unsteady and cruel King Brokova, Anya's grandfather. When the Storm of Heinodis arrives, Anya finds out some information about her grandfather and she is horrified which leads to him banning her from ever becoming Queen. In anger, she runs away from the palace and in turn she disobeys one of his rules. Whilst escaping her grandfather, Anya meets Dimitri. Dimitri is a man in the Zafiro faction that she has never seen before, his mystery and her desperation leads the two to become friends and hide out together. What happens when they are found? Where has Dimitri come from? Will they survive? After all, they live in Daighte and if Dimitri has come from somewhere, what else has?
